Corinna Chong

Writer, editor, designer, educator

Corinna Chong lives in Kelowna, BC, on the traditional and unceded territory of the Syilx/Okanagan people, where she teaches in the Department of English and Fine Arts at Okanagan College. She holds degrees in English (creative writing) and Visual Art (photography) from the University of Calgary and an MA in English (creative writing) from the University of New Brunswick.


Her first novel, Belinda’s Rings (NeWest Press, 2013), received strong reviews and was highlighted in The Globe and Mail. Short fiction and reviews have appeared in leading Canadian literary magazines, and her short story collection, The Whole Animal (Arsenal Pulp Press, 2023), was widely recognized, including by CBC and The 49th Shelf. Her novel Bad Land (Arsenal Pulp, 2024) was long listed for the Giller Prize and featured on several best-of-the-year lists.


Committed to her work, she is also equally passionate about the writing community, mentoring and guiding emerging writers, and has served on editorial boards for Qwerty and The Fiddlehead. She teaches creative writing and publishing courses in Okanagan College’s Writing and Publishing Diploma program. https://www.corinnachong.com/
