Behind the Scenes:

Erica Konrad is an interdisciplinary artist living and working in Nelson, British Columbia, home to the Sinixt and Ktunaxa people.

Excited about women-owned small businesses, Erica is committed to creating a retreat experience that is highly satisfying and offers a retreat away from all the to-do lists. She is passionate about supporting and connecting with other artists through the Narrows Art Retreat.

Her background is a university education in environmental studies, which has laid the foundation for her intense inspiration from the natural world. She is mostly self taught, working in mixed media, having attended international workshops on the encaustic process & other disciplines. She is passionate about installation art and  the use of various mediums to expand her practice.

She has also designed and built straw bale eco homes with her family, interested in local food systems, community initiatives, green living/building and environmental and social advocacy.

She maintains an active studio practice creating artwork for public and private collections, while running the Narrows.
