Silvan Wood is a photographer, printmaker, designer, and interdisciplinary visual artist from Vancouver Island, based in Victoria. They studied contemporary art, photography, and creative writing at Camosun College, graduating in 2025 with a Diploma in Visual Arts.

An emerging artist, Silvan explores the world through play and experimentation, examining connections between conceptual ideas, physical material, and environmental space. 

Silvan’s work explores concepts of connection, memory, identity, and gender, and examines physical elements of movement, light, texture, and colour.

At the Narrows I observed and listened to myself, my environment, my materials, and the quiet voice of inspiration. It gave me the space to absorb and learn what is here when you take the time to be patient, see what already exists, and more deeply understand what it has to say. I’ve rarely felt more connected to the present moment, my perspective, and the space I occupy, and I will carry these lessons with me to inform my future and my practice.
