Renée Harper (she/they) is an artist, writer and literature and creative writing professor at Selkirk College. Renée holds a PhD in Canadian Literature from York University. Her research focuses on the ongoing settler-colonial making and unmaking of place on unceded Indigenous territories in the interior of British Columbia, Canada. Renée’s creative work has been published in journals and magazines, and her poetry collection Boundary Territory (2024) is available through Now or Never Publishing.

At Selkirk College, she is the co-founder of the Black Bear Review and currently serves as a faculty adviser. She is passionate about teaching and the creative and intellectual magic that happens within learning environments. https://www.reneeharper.ca/
