The NARROWS Art Retreat
Margie, a ceramic artist based in the East Kootenay, infuses her work with the essence of nature and creativity. Drawing from her background as a horticultural technician, she translates her love for organic forms into the fluidity of clay. Largely self-taught, Margie has expanded her craft through years of exploration, pottery courses and experimenting with both wheel and hand-building techniques.
Her work, primarily functional often carries a touch of whimsy, reflecting her playful experimentation and deep connection to nature. Inspired by the rugged landscapes of the Rocky Mountains, she finds endless creativity in the rivers, mountains and forests that are central to her life. Always evolving, she sees her pottery as an organic extension of her love for the outdoors.
Working from her home studio and the Fernie Arts Station Pottery Studio, she is continually honing her craft. Her ceramic wares can be found at her private studio in Fernie, and at the Fernie Arts Co-op, where she continues to share her evolving creations with the community.
