The Residency Program is intended to give artists an opportunity to imagine and create in an inspirational, contemplative and remote setting.

Located near Kootenay Lake, the Retreat centre is nestled among cottonwood, cedar trees and ponderosa pines. Away from the distractions of daily life, a residency allows one the time to renew and focus on their creative practice and experience a sense of tranquility. People looking to escape must consider whether or not this is the right environment for them.

*Transport to and from the retreat is by motor boat.

One trip per week by boat can be made available if necessary, for groceries and re-supply.

Artist-in-Residence Program

WE ACCEPT APPLICATIONS ON A ROLLING BASIS - APPLY ANYTIME!

The Artist is responsible for lodging, travel expenses, food, art materials, shipping, and other personal expenses.

* Most participants apply for grants to institutions, government agencies, foundations, universities, etc. in their country/province of origin to assist with funding during their stay.  We also have a scholarship program, please see below.

*We do not provide daily cleaning of the studio or rooms, or daily meals.

* Resident artists are expected to maintain their studio space and rooms, shared common areas of the kitchen, bathroom and other common areas in a clean and tidy manner, with respect for the other residents using the space.

* Please respect private property around the retreat and while we love pets, we do not allow them because there is a lot of wildlife in the area.

We provide private or shared residencies (please specify on your application). In a shared residency, artists have access to shared residence (main living space), professional studio, and the yurt.

* Shared residency: even though the retreat sleeps 4-6, we limit the maximum number of artists sharing for a residency to 3.
