


Watercolour Without Fear - Saturday July 20, 10am - 4pm
Approach watercolour with confidence, with instructor Don Konrad.
$70.
An all day workshop at Hidden Creek Arts Centre, exploring this time-honoured medium
with easy to understand instruction. Participants will explore, through creative exercises,
ways to use colour and turn ideas into interesting compositions; emphasis will be on
individual attention.
The workshop will touch on basic techniques and methods as they apply to:
• Colour mixing
• Brushwork
• Tonal Values
• Composition
• Preliminary Studies and Sketching
• Individual Landscape Paintings
Resident Instructor Don Konrad, has taught art and conducted many workshops in
eastern and western Canada. For the past five years, he has been a Guest Staff
Watercolour Instructor for Holland-America Cruise lines painting in Europe, South
America, Caribbean, South Pacific as well as Florida and Alaska and many ports in
between.
Having recently moved to Nelson, Don is sharing his knowledge and experience at
Hidden Creek for the first time.

Please be at the public wharf (Prestige) at 9:30 am for the 10 minute boat trip to
Grohman Narrows. Life jackets will be provided. Mobility to board a motorboat and for
the short walk to the retreat centre is essential.
